Why is the PH level of my vagina important?
The PH level of your vagina determines how healthy your vagina is. A normal PH level ranges between 3.5 and 4.5. If your PH level is higher than 4.5, you are more likely to experience recurring infections, as this environment encourages an overgrowth of bacteria and yeast to occur. (Your PH is more likely to be higher than 4.5 during your menstrual cycle, which is normal, because the PH level of blood is higher than that of your vagina.)
 
What can cause a PH imbalance?
Having unprotected sex, multiple sex partners, your menstrual cycle, certain antibiotics, your diet, an active infection, and douching.
